My Story
I am a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and am passionate about counseling and helping individuals adopt healthy eating habits and patterns to easily fit their lifestyle.
I initially became interested in using food as medicine when I supervised the fitness center at the Pritikin Longevity Center in Santa Monica, California. There, I worked with clients in a residential facility to improve their overall health and wellness. Collaborating with physicians and clients in such an innovative setting sparked my journey to use food as a fundamental tool for helping people feel better.
I obtained my Masters of Science in Nutrition at Tufts University School of Nutrition and became a Registered Dietitian after completing my professional training at the University of California, San Diego. Since then, I have worked in academic settings such as the University of Michigan in Cardiovascular Medicine as well as counseled in private practice in the Chicago-area for over 25 years.
My client population ranges from individuals who suffer from disordered eating patterns to cardiovascular concerns to those who simply want to improve their overall health. Many clients want to stop struggling with their weight. I coach clients in a step-by-step progressive process to help them achieve their goals.
Over the last few years, I became certified as a yoga instructor to complement my career in nutrition. During nutrition sessions, I weave in components of mindfulness, yoga philosophy and breathing techniques in order to help clients gain a deeper understanding and more fully integrate and instill nutrition concepts and behaviors.
